Demi Dressage provides fun and encouraging child-friendly online video dressage test competitions with a difference! It is the brain-child of Chesca Burrows, and combines her passion for schooling ponies correctly and sympathetically with her new enjoyment of being Pony Club mum to (then) 5yo daughter ‘Fidget’, who has always shown a preference for dressage over the other more ‘exciting’ horse-riding disciplines!

Chesca has enjoyed competing through online dressage companies herself, but has had difficulty in finding engaging tests suitable for both her own daughter and other young riders that she teaches. And hence the idea of Demi Dressage with freshly written child-friendly fun and progressive tests was born. Our tests are designed to be suitable early 'grassroots' training towards competing with the Pony Club and British Dressage, whilst also providing children with confidence and enjoyment in developing their riding. Our intention is to reward even the most basic of achievement with a rosette.

Competing with Demi Dressage offers young riders the important element of external independent reference and we are are lucky to have as our main judge experienced instructor Susy Butler (nee Stark) of Starks Equitation.

Susy began her career teaching in several riding schools, developing a love for teaching youngsters the correct way to ride from the start. Now a freelance and Pony Club instructor, she’s enjoying being involved with Demi Dressage as it introduces youngsters to the world of dressage and competing whilst keeping fun and correct training at it’s heart.
